Found another older TB

This was here before I came ten years ago. It bloomed last year - not yet this year?? Isn't that goldish the strangest color?

I looked at all of the pics at HIPS the other day and it seems like I saw one like yours or very similar to it. I don't have time to run through them all, but you might take a look/see, if you have the time.

Do you think that it could be Jean Cayeux (1931)? Again, I can't measure it until it blooms next year.

Sorry ashes, these did not bloom this year. I looked at pictures of heirloom iris all day yesterday, while it rained. Now I'm so confused. But again, I have a new appreciation for something that I just took for granted. I'm sorry that I missed the old ones at my grandmother's homestead this year. The iris season is just about over here in western KY.

Thanks,
Penny

that yellow one really is gorgous. the only other places that i can suggest is Brighton Park Iris -> he's a schrieners collector so if it's a schriener variety he'll likely have a picture of it. also Bluebird Haven Iris gardens has the largest selection of historic iris and alot of them have pitures so you could look through there too. trust me it will take you a while!

and the good news for me is that the iris season is just starting across the river from Detroit! however it's been sheer torture looking at everyone elses pictures and ahving nothing in my own backyard.

Yes, those are the two sites that I've been looking at. But, I'll have all winter to compare my pictures - better start weeding!

Thanks,

I think it's Naranja from that site chemocurl posted. Those pictures brightened my day. I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread. :)

Wow! That's amazing! I think that you're correct. It sure does look like it. This 'Naranja' is planted in the same location as Helen Collingwood (1949). DH dug all of these from an old house site many years ago. I'd almost bet that the two-tone purple (forgive my vagueness) in the background of this picture would be from that same period of history.

Thanks so much,
Penny
