Identifying Iris

I have several iris that bloom beautifully. My problem is that my grandson 'helped' me transplant (he was four at the time). As I wrote the name of the iris on a copper tag, he was to remove the white tag. Well, you guessed it. He removed ALL of the white tags before I had the copper ones made up. Now I don't know what is what! Is there a site somewhere where I can compare my blooms and maybe recover the names of the iris? I know there are hundreds of varieties, but at this point, I am desperate! HELP!

Do you have the tags that he removed? That way your iris names would have had to come from a list of those names. You mention there are hundreds of varieties...actually there are thousands...something like 60,000 named cultivars!
It would be difficult to find names for your iris amongst 60,000 possibilities.
You can post pictures of the iris here along with the list from the pulled tags, and someone may recognize something they are growing. There are also sites with lots of pictures, but no one has all iris pictures possible. A few sites with lots of pictues are BlueJ www.blujiris.com or snowpeak www.snowpeakiris.com or argyle www.argyleacres.com to name a few, but there are many others.
