I'm wondering if the stringless runner beans like Polestar, Lady Di, and White Lady (available from Thompson and Morgan) are of better eating quality than ones with strings like Scarlet Emperor (available on seed racks locally). I don't know if the presence or absence of strings makes much difference in taste or tenderness of the beans themselves. Or productivity.
