Thursday's Iris Pics (and some other stuff too)

We've had three nice days in a row with losts of sun - FINALLY!!! This is the most consecutive days we've had in a row this spring with nice weather which is pretty sad. I hope it keeps up and that summer is a lot better than spring turned out to be! Anyway, here are some iris pics from today along with a few other things:

The Creeping Baby's Breath and Yellow Corydalis is looking really good this year

This will be my first daylily to bloom. You can see how huge the clump is and it's loaded with buds too. Can't wait!

Jason, those are really pretty iris...are they tall bearded or some of the little ones...I really like Bluebeard's ghost!Aren't you the green thumb though? Your creeping Baby's Breath and Corydalis look great too. Beautiful garden.

Kay - Messenger and Pink Kitten are Intermediate. Bluebeard's Ghost, Jewel Baby and Pink Frosting are Dwarf. The only irises I've had bloom so far are the dwarfs and the intermediates. I have lots of buds on the talls, borders and miniature talls but none of them have bloomed yet.

I've always liked Bluebeard's Ghost, but Pink Frosting is new to me, I really like that one. I'm glad we will have some iris pictures still coming!

The yellow flowers are pretty and the daylily scapes wonderful. Pretty flowers on your iris.

Great iris pictures Jason. I really like the corydalys. I've wanted to get that one. Does it like dappled shade? Is it very invasive? I thought it might look nice with my hostas. Marg

Marg - Yes the Corydalis should have dappled shade ideally. Mine is in full sun but seems to be used to it. Yes it is invasive. However I have mine in a raised bed surrounded pretty closely by other things so it doesn't have much space to really go anywhere else. Also, when the flowers turn into seed pods I remove them so they can't drop and start new plants. It's sort of a pain in the neck but I like the plant so I put out the extra effort.
