It looks like it to me. It is actually considered a variant of L. speciosum (L. speciosum var. gloriosoides). I'm not familiar with the foliage, but the shade of green can certainly vary with culture.

Here is a link that might be useful: {{gwi:1027719}}

Thanks, the foliage in the pic is actually of an Amorphophallus I used as a backdrop for the pic. It seems incredibly easy to grow so far, but any advice would be appreciated. The only other one I have is L. napalense, which is also an easy one it seems, although I've only had it for 3 years. I'm curious why it blooms so late in the year?? It seems like it could never set seed before fall. Thanks again :o) Dan

I don't know why L. nepalense is blooming this late, my information source states it blooms in July, but I don't think seed is it's main route of increase. It grows underground stoloniferous stems that form bulblets along its length. Flowering is enhanced by confining the underground growth. The best advice I can give for general lily culture is to have excellent drainage. Bulbs tend to rot if they sit in soil with poor drainage. Did you know you can increase lilies by pulling off a few scales before you plant the bulb then cultivating bulblets along the basal edge? You usually can get bloom in 2-3 years this way.

Hi, Sorry for the confusion. The nepalense bloomed as usual in mid-summer. It is the gloriosoides that is just now blooming. I know nothing at all about pulling off scales and culturing these. Perhaps after a year or two more if the bulbs increase nicely in size I will gie it a whirl after doing some reading. Mine are in pots in fast draining mix and I store them in the garage for the winter. I know that nepalense likes it pretty dry in the winter as it comes from the Himalayas and that mimics its natural environment. I'll need to do a bot more reading about gloriosoides as I'd hate to lose it since it is so wonderful now that I have it!! Thanks for all the help :o) Dan
