Borlotti is an old pole bean. Very rampant vines. Like the Dwarf Horticultural, Taylor strain it is in the Cranberry bean group. BUT the Taylor is a true bush bean. The Taylor bean has a much shorter growing season and while it is sometimes referred to as a Pinto type, it has the Cranberry bean flavor. I don't know the Southern Cal climate, but either should grow anywhere you can grow beans.

Anyone have comments on flavors and textures of these two beans? Similar, very different?
