I finally got around to transplanting my huge oriental bulbs (see recent post; "Curing bulbs of fungal contamination") Most of them already had very tender sprouts (1 to 3 inches long) starting out, and I damaged a few by breaking their sprouts off. I transplanted the undamaged ones, however I am nervous about planting these damaged ones. Any suggestions? Does the damage make them more susceptable to any dire disease or critter? Will they continue to push their way to the surface if I plant them? If so, what depth is suggested.

I also scored direct hits with my trowel on a few, spliting them into two or more pieces. Should I just write them off, stick em in the ground and hope for the best, or regegate them to a propegation project?
