New baby stems... when do they bloom?

Argh, I tried searching for the answer but can't figure out the right search terms to use... I have lily bulbs planted in a container. Last year was my first year with lilies, so three bulbs, three stems, all as expected. This year, three monstrous thick stems, and about twelve baby stems. Didn't expect that... I expected a little more action but not that much. So I was just curious... will any of these baby stems bloom this year? Or does that take another year or two? They are regal lilies.

Lilies have a large range of maturation times. Some may take up to seven years, others only a couple. Luckily for you Lilium Regale is a fairly speedy bloomer. They won't bloom this year, but if you put them in a good spot where they get sun and have good soil (so their bulbs get as large as possible this season) some of them may well bloom next year.

Excellent... I figured they probably wouldn't bloom this year. The baby stems seem to be quite vigorous, so maybe they really will bloom next year. They're about the same thickness stem-wise as the stems last year that bloomed, which is why I was so surprised at how enormous the main stems are this year. I guess they must like the container after all. I'm tempted to get more lilies now. They definitely made me into a fan.
