We moved into our new house about 3 yrs ago and there was already an existing Iris bed. It's in a perfect location, 9 by 5 ft. and surrounded by native rocks especially rose rock.

I'd like to take all the existing iris out and add my own and possibly add a few roses. Any suggestions on how to improve the soil? Any helpwould be greatly appreciated.
