I just ordered a bulb of Mrs R.O. Backhouse from Old House Gardens, to be delivered in the fall. This was the most expensive bulb I've bought in my gardening career.
Any tips on making her the happiest? She seems to be absolutely gorgeous and I want to do right by her; the spot I have in mind is high filtered shade most of the summer with a few hours of morning sun and a cool root run (near the flagstone apron of the back porch).
Does she tend to tilt at full blooming height? I'm trying to decide whether to move her back from the walk a bit more but that would put her in slightly deeper shade.
Thanks,
Kristin
