lilies put in pots to eaarly. What now?

I got a bargain on some early bulbs at Walmart. Rather than storing them in a cool place I planted them in 5" pots in my basement. Temperature is about 55 F. I use that section to grow my plants. Now several of the lily plants are about 9" tall. What should I do to save these bulbs. It won't be suitable for at least another month or more to plant them outside. Would putting them outdoors during the day in about 38-40 F and taking them in during wet weather help?

I have an unheated garage. But will they survive in darkness. Any help appreciated.
