Don't be surprised at all. Many types of lilies multiply like crazy! Next year you'll have even more. Every couple of years you may want to divide them.

I bought an Oriental Lily last year. Finally got to put it in the ground back in September after we moved to our house. I have 11 different bulbs this year. For some reason they are slow growing. They were growing quite nicely but have slowed down. They probably aren't even 6 or 7' tall yet. Hope nothing is wrong with them because they smell awesome!

This year is the first that I had lilies multiply. I was pleasantly surprised when my 6 bulbs from last year, 3 in each group planted in different areas, have shown new plants growing near them. In each area, there are at least double the plants now. I don't know how many years it will be until they flower but I don't plan on disturbing that area for a while. Comparatively, I have disturbed pots where I found very small bulbs. I would repot them but some made it, some didn't.
