Bill Best is probably the best source for greasy beans. He has quite a few varieties.

Pigeon peas are usually available in markets that cater to ethnic groups, in the beans and rice section.

Hispanic grocery stores sell them in sealed plastic bags (like rice and dried peas), usually labeled in English (Pigeon peas) and/or Spanish ('Gandules'). They usually run about $1 or so for a pound of them.

But they are grown many places in the world, so other ethnic markets should have them, too.

Sprout some in your kitchen to make sure they haven't been heat treated. If they sprout, they're good. Mine got about 66% germination rate, so I have to plant half again as many seeds as I want plants.
