It is of course not the ideal time, but if you really want to, do it now. I have dug lilies early & still had bloom, although the blooms may be shorter or weaker than they should have been. It can be very hard not to break the stems. That has been my experience, but different zones might make a difference.

Can you divide them in the Fall w/no damage?

Typically, it's said that you should divide in the fall after all the lilies have bloomed and have gone brown. So, then you wouldn't be damaging the emerging stems.

I did divide mine last week and damaged only 1 stem... on a bulblet. So, no biggie!

What is amazing is when you decide to divide a clump of lilies and discover that the one little starting bulb has grown into a globe of bulbs about the size of half a basketball. When you start prying that apart you discover that lilies are tougher than you think.

I've moved my Asiatics and Longiflorum any time of the year you can imagine and had them do fine. In fairness, some of them have multiplied so much that I didn't really care if I lost some in the move.

I'm still more careful with my Orientals, since they don't tend to do nearly as well for me.
