Give it full sun and winter protection. From four planted two years ago, two are still coming back, they are close to a brick building. The ones planted in a shadier but more protected spot didn't come back.

Mine were Easter presents 3 years ago. Planted in full sun with good drainage and they have multiplied and gotten larger every year. I never knew they were so easy, and I get very similar winters as you (with a bit more snow cover.)

Plant them where you would any other Lily in full sun if possible but I have 200 Lily bulbs which have grown fine for 6 years in full shade. 500 others in full sun. Sun is best. By the way...Easter lilies you get around easter time are short around 20" or less. The ONLY reason they stay short is because they are sprayed with a growth retardant to keep them from getting 5 feet tall. after 2 years they should grow taller in the garden and will multiply.
