That's a tough one Diva. If they haven't regrown after four weeks, I'd suggest you cut them off at the ground and try planting some beans in their place. Hopefully 40 degree nights won't be too hard on the beans. We once lived at 5500' in Mexico, and the climate was similar, though, by now, nights were more like, in the 70s or 80s.

They've actually showed new growth the last 2 days as the nights have grown warmer. Maybe I'll have a pea harvest.

Wow, I was about to come on here and post the exact same thing. Who knew that rabbits loved peas and pole beans so much? I'm actually thinking about replanting the pole beans because they don't seem to be recovering. I'm 1 week into waiting. The peas don't look half bad although not as lush as before. Heavy sigh. The rabbits aren't even afraid of me and my family.

I've had some success spraying beans with hot pepper spray to repel rabbits.

I've got brazen rabbits, too. I think they were born on my front lawn so they feel particularly entitled.

Anyway, I've always had to replant nibbled pea and bean seedlings. I've seen the stumps put out new leaves but they've never grown much in height. New seedlings quickly outpaced the stumps. I managed to get a good pea crop by enclosing the whole bed with kennel fence which then also served as a trellis. I'm starting new beans in pots on my deck after two successive grazings. I'm hoping an older plant won't be so enticing.
