They're ready. If they're growing outside, they're hardened off (acclimated to sun and overnight cold) and can go in the garden right away. If not, leave them outside for longer periods each day over two weeks.

Peas are easy to direct seed. Next year you can save yourself some work by sowing them directly in the ground. You could try some now in another part of the garden for a second crop, and again in August for the fall.

Scoop out a hole for each plant and remove them from their cups gently so as not to disturb the roots.
