The pricing is ludicrous, to be nice! You can get a couple of shop lights for $10-15 bucks each that will cover far more room and do just as good as these "grow lights." The only things the ones you posted are good for growing are the profits of the company selling them.

IMO 12-14" in depth and using only 2 bulbs is not an efficient use of space. You can buy 2 T5 fixtures at walmart for $20 that put out the light those do. If you had done a little research here you would see that most "grow lights" are overpriced and not as good as everyday T12, T8 or T5 fluorescents. There are some HO setups that are better but they cost way too much compared to doing the overdriving yourself. Go through some of the threads on this forum and see for yourself. Posting before doing so is often a waste of time.

I bought a 2 tier stand from gardners supply and my seedlings are doing just fine. As far as I could determine the lights are about as good as you can get.

Too many people on this board are obsessed with penny pinching a purchase too death and downgrading any other approach. Sometimes people just want a finished product in front of them rather than a construction project.

I paid around 600 for my stand and I think it is money well spent.

I bought a 3 tier stand and 7 fixtures that handle 2 bulbs each. They are T8 6500K bulbs. And a couple of clips to hang the chains for the lights. 1 month = 12" tomato plants.

I am currently growing 100 seedlings, all that each have their own 3" pot.

All for $100... I would say THAT is money well spent.

I think the OP wanted something reasonable not highly over priced.

I bought three 600-watt MH systems for $600 and change.
