Indoor Lighting Solar Powered Fan

I've got an MH light in a small (1.5'x2' setup) - obviously plenty of heat/light generated in my little growing area. I am wondering if anyone had played with using the excess light/heat to do other things? A solar powered water pump (put the panel on the floor?) A Stirling Engine to move a fan? Anyone done anything interesting?
