Need fava bean guidance

On March 9th I planted Ianto's favas. A month later I gave up on their ever sprouting. On April 12 I was delighted to see some action. Now they're 5' tall and have been blooming about 10 days. However, I can't see any pods being formed. Is this normal? When will I have something to go in the pot?

It's normal. One day you will suddenly see pods. Meanwhile enjoy the scent of the flowers. Are they supported in any way? I'd suggest driving a post in each end of the row and running a couple of strings up one side and down the other.

Thanks, Flora. Supports? Didn't enter my mind in March. All I wanted to do was to get my hands down in the soil again. These favas are becoming top-heavy and I'll do some staking now.
