I picked up an Asiatic in full bloom yesterday at Wal-mart. It looks pot bound. Is it ok to repot it now or should I wait until the blooms drop?

I'm in coastal Georgia zone 9 and just started venturing beyond houseplants but I'm renting a house and don't want to plant this in the ground. Do they do well in pots, only bringing them in during the winter?
