Gold-Band (L. auratum) is reputed to be a bit more difficult to grow than other lilies. I tried it and it didn't last a year in my garden. It did exactly what yours is doing! Your post does not surprise me! In it's natural habitat in Japan, it grows in volcanic ash and lava debris, which is the hint that it requires EXCELLENT drainage. You may well have bulb rot. Perhaps you should try to separate out the bulblets later in the fall and replant with the drainage they require. I congratulate you on growing this one sucessfully for three years!

Thanks for the response. I do water the flower bed alot and I think that is what caused it. I have another Gold Band lilly plant that is in the mixture with the Stargazers and it appears to be doing the same thing, however the Stargazers ad Dizzy are growing huge! Again, Thanks!
