Got this from a quality PNW Iris nursery in the spring. In spite of a relatively mild summer, watering it when it seemed to need it, it showed a notable "failure to thrive". Anyone growing this on the east coast south of New England? I can't be sure it didn't like hot humid weather, but it's the kind of anemic behavior I've seen before with plants that have that problem. Areas it comes from in Asia are all quite high elevation and thus cool at night.
Have taken the withered remains of the root inside, repotted; it is growing but the size of the plant is vastly diminished and it will be at least 2-3 years before it has any chance of being blooming size again.
BTW a Sino-Siberian from this nursery is doing well; a Cal-Sib was devoured by slugs with a voraciousness I've never seen before with any plant.
