I'm growing some for the first time. Mine are red & I got the seed in the cottage garden seed swap at the end of 05. They are still pretty little, so I don't think they would do the trick for your instant gratification. I took some of the seedlings to my garden club's plant sale a few wks ago & they sold quickly. The seeds came from a gardener in Norway and I'm in Michigan. Small planet huh?

Gurney's nursery usually offers them. They are in South Dakota so they are just getting started on the growing season, but they should have them.

I've grown them from seed before and they lasted a couple of years and then just did not come back. I don't know if they are a bi-ennial, I had always thought of them as perennials.

I should have added that my friend ordered trees and received them in good condition. So, based on her experience, they were very legit. You can also read their privacy and security policy - no guarantee though. For $6.95, you don't have much to lose.
