I think you are going to have a bad time :)

These Iris are most active in growth in the Fall and Winter and stop growing actively after flowering. I think you are looking at 2years min growth time before flowers. Seedlings are probably the best way to try though - mature plant divisions are miffy even here on the West Coast. Do not transplant these babies during the Spring or Summer (Late Fall only).

If you have a 'cold' greenhouse where you can keep temps in a more zone 8 like range, I think you can grow them inside in the winter. The Hot humid moist summer is really your enemy as they will get all fungal under these conditions.

If you are in a marginal area for PCI, some have reported success with the yellow strains.

Thanks, Chad... I don't have a greenhouse (cold or otherwise!) but may ask around to see if anyone knows someone who does and would be willing to iris-sit til spring. Given their life cycle as you describe it, it sounds as if they would be living indoors all year long here in CT no matter what, as their "high growth" season is our cold, snowy one! Oh well.. they are BEAUTIFUL little shoots so I will feel good about having accomplished that much and pretty much write off their futures unless I can find a friend with a greenhouse!

The thing is we would 'kill' to be able to grow Siberians well here, but there is not enough chill for good stalks and many don't thrive.
