LED Lights?

Everything I've seen so far on LED lights pertains to Hydroponics or growing Cannabis. I want to do neither. I'm wanting to grow my indoor lemon tree. Will a LED light help here?

What about using it to start seeds and such? I don't want to waste my money on it if it isn't up to snuff.

I'm also trying to propagate roses and I've seen some that say that they are good for that but I want to ask the forum what they think.

It will be difficult to impossible to find a commercial LED light for your needs at the moment. You need to pick one that covers multiple wavelengths and includes white to hit the "micro-nutrient wavelengths" or add a CFL. You will have to pay an absurd price for it and it will not perform as desired.

Unfortunately, at the moment, the only really viable LED grow lights for full production of food (or cannabis) are homemade. LED grow light vendors lie - period. Currently, LED grow lights are the sleaziest business around...

For trees, unless you're doing bonsai, ignore LED. You might as well just get a CMH and be done with it.

I think he believes I have an agenda. My responses are just a normal human response to relentless spamming of gardening forums by what seems like predominately LED vendors lately. No, I don't sell anything or own stock in anything. My opinions are just that - and based on my knowledge and experience.

There's no reason you couldn't grow a lemon tree with LED's. But once again, I honestly have yet to see a commercial light that could do it.
