I assume you've changed tubes? If only one tube has problems, you should check the wiring for any loose connections or kinked wires. Shame to replace the ballast and find out you still have the same problem!

Do they even sell a specific replacement ballast? I imagine they expect you just to replace the whole fitting. But you can install just about any 2x32W electronic ballast that will fit in the space. Something like this should do the trick although it costs nearly as much as the entire fitting :)

Yes, when I put in new tubes, the problem persisted. I'd then assumed a bad ballast because we'd been having some pretty severe lightening storms and associated power ups and downs. (actually lost two tv's due to these surges) However, the lights had been off during those storms....

Thank you for the link. The ballast in this fixture is only 4 or so inches long and due to the housing design, a longer ballast wouldn't fit. (Already tried to switch it with one from another, non LOA fixture.)

Since my post, I find LOA has put this fixture back on their list of products. An email to them for a local retailer only netted the suggestion that I contact one of their two distributors via online. Not very satisfactory.

Update: The electrical wiring and connections all checked out fine. The ballast is only 4in in length and the way it's actually a part of the end cap will prohibit it's being replaced. I finally found the boxes in the attic and plan to contact the company on Tuesday about the warranty. This is after an email to the company requesting local retailers only netted me the suggestion to contact their distributors. sigh. The cost is ridiculous after adding shipping. If I fail on the warranty replacement attempt....I'll just replace it with a more reliable unit. Thanks again for your help.
