Yes, you want to pot them. In zone 5, if you have a garage that is attached or just stays above freezing for the next several weeks, put them in there. They may not show signs of growth, but they'll be putting out roots. If you don't have a garage as an option, you can bring them into the house in a sunny window or in the basement under lights, but they will get kinda spindly and floppy, and will be prone to aphid infestations. The spindly growth won't kill them, but I'd take care to harden them off gradually in the spring before setting them outside full-time, and the aphids can be controlled by squishing them periodically and/or spraying them with soapy water.
