Please post your rebloomers

I bought Bountiful Harvest from Schreiners this summer and its already blooming. I also have Summer Olympics blooming. I am defently going to order more rebloomers next year. Since Bountiful Harvest is newly planted I was afraid the weight of the flowers would pull it over so I cut it off and brought it in. I hope that didn,t harm it any. Alot of my this years Schreiners order are making babys already.

One of my Iris has big rebloom buds on it & I'm so excited about it that I came here to check out other's reblooms! I'll post a photo as soon as it flowers..
It doesn't hurt the rhizome at all to cut off the bloom stalks/scapes, in fact it makes life a bit easier for them.
The plants can put all their energy into feeding the rhizome & making offsets instead of blooms.
I order every year from Schreiner's ~ their plants are always so huge & healthy that I get several scapes from each one the next Spring, gotta love it!

A small clump of Lo Ho Silver, that I have dug into a couple of times recently, has had numerous stalks blooming since early Sept.
I also noticed Matrix had numerous bloom stalks on it the other day, but no buds have opened yet. I was not aware it was a rebloomer. It too has been dug into/disturbed a couple of times these past few months. I'm wondering if that may have done something to trigger it to rebloom.
Is it a rebloomer for anyone else?

I also have one labeled 'might be' Superstition, which it isn't. It has however put up a bloom stalk recently, so I don't care what its name is. I just love to see a few irises in bloom on Sept, Oct, and with any luck, maybe even early Nov.

I believe all of my purchases will be rebloomers. There is a local grower and she only lists irises that have reliably rebloomed for her, as rebloomers. Most all of them are just $2 or $3.

I meant to say...I believe all of my 'future' purchases will be rebloomers.

Good pricing, chemocurl! Does the grower have a web site, and sell out of state?

Yes she does sell out of state but does not have a web site. I would guess she could send you a price list, but wonder if she would have that prepared for 2009, assuming she will maybe have some new ones, or adjust some prices.

    Winton's Iris Hill

She has over 1,000 varieties of Bearded Iris.
    1,500 varieties of Daylilies
    400 varieties of Hostas

She also has numerous great perennials at great prices, but I don't think she sells those other than on site.

She even has some irises for just $1. I counted and there were 22 varieties on the 2008 price list. The shipping she quoted me was very reasonable, but I ended up having a friend pick mine up when she picked hers up.

Maybe you just need to take a vacation in May, and head west.

Here is a post about my day's visit there this past May.

If you don't get a price list anytime soon, and would like, I could get together a list of the rebloomers and either email it to you, or post it here if others might be interested. I'd want to be sure and place 'my' 2009 order first though...lol...even if it meant placing it very early.

Over and over is reblooming in Germany

This has been my best year for rebloomers. I had a total of 69 clumps to have at least one rebloom stalk. A few of these were the same iris in different places. I had Walter Moores' Pink Reprise to bloom in three different locations. Other Moores iris to rebloom this year for me were Two Different Worlds, Lake Reprise, Gold Reprise and Grape Reprise. Another iris that rebloomed in several locations was Youth Dew(Zurbrigg 1980). Youth Dew bloomed on April 24th and started rebloom on July 8th. It has several stalks in bloom now in two locations. Another to rebloom in various locations was Northward Ho(Zurbrigg 1991). Northward Ho has several bloom stalks that will be killed before they can open. We are forcast to have several nights of freezing weather starting tonight with a low of 22 degrees early next week so this will stop all rebloom unless it warms up enough for new bloom stalks to form. Total Recall.
It bloomed all spring, took a month off in June, then bloomed again until November, I divided it, and now it has another bloom stalk coming up.
It's my only reblooming iris, but I have been converted. I'm ordering more for this spring.
