yes, another question about footcandles and distance

20 years ago

cant remember,is the remaining (approximate) foot candles for each foot away from the light 50% or 25%? or some other percentage?

ie, if it was 100,000 at the light, will it be 50,000 at one foot away and 25000 at two feet OR 25000 one foot away and 6250 at two feet?

cant remember my physics

i want another light for a bigger area, and just need to figure out if a 1000 watt bulb is going to be too bright for a certain distance
