Growing under Lights

Indoor Ficus

Recently I received a ficus tree for my office- however my office doesn't have any windows. I have heard ficus love the light so I purchased a lamp to provide some to it. I don't know the first thing about using it however... How should I place it? How should I place it? How long should I turn it on per day? Any help you could provide me would be most helpful.

It might help - a bit or maybe a lot - if you let us know what type of light you bought. A 100 watt incandescent? A 42 watt CFL? A HID, LED, Shop Light or YMMV light?

Based on your post, the best info I can provide is to plug it in and turn it on!

Sorry, but your post reminds me of one I've seen before: I sowed some seeds. What should I do now!
