black bean not flowering

In an attempt to grow dry beans for my family I went the cheap route and bought some dry black beans from the store to use for seed. The label was half in Spanish and half in English as they came from the international section of the grocery. I planted them in late May. Since then, they have grown and grown. They seem to be a vining type as they have overtaken both adjacent rows and are attempting to go further. They have yet to set one flower, though. Is there hope they will?
In the past I have gone to the grocery for seed and gotten bush type black beans so I now realize it is a gamble. I'm just hoping at some point this now "cover crop" of black bean vines will produce an edible harvest.
Thanks.
