Debatable... most plants benefit from all parts of the light spectrum.

A bulb with a CCT of 5,000-6500K would probably suffice and perform well for an Aspidistra or Aglaonema. When growing just one (or a few) low-light tolerant plants, I don't think you would need any type of high intensity set-up.

If you are considering an LED bulb, one option that might be worth checking out (not an endorsement and/or advertisement from my end, just providing some info) is: Phillips Horticulture 'GreenPower' LED. A plug & play bulb with screw-in E26 base, along with 3 different spectrum choices: 14w DR/W/FR, 15w DR/W, and 13w DR [DR ~ Deep Red, W ~ White, FR ~ Far Red].

If you are wondering why there is not a 'blue' choice, most white LEDs cover the blue spectrum fairly well. Highly recommended to use these bulbs in 'open air' (not enclosed) because the base of the bulb (heatsink) does put off heat. They are a bit on the expensive side, but most of the various branded "daylight" LEDs available at the big box stores are much lower in price.

Thank you for the advice. I actually had looked at those Philips bulbs earlier, but wasn't sure if they were a good choice vs. the blue/red LEDs you see all over Amazon and eBay. But I like that the Philips bulb is a white light so my neighbors won't see a purple glow from my windows and think I'm growing pot. Anyway, I have ordered one of the DR/W ones. If I'm feeling ambitious I'll repost with pics of how it looks with the plant. Thanks again.
