That has been my experience with rattlesnakes too....not to mention that I love the taste...but last year they lasted from spring till the first freeze....I planted what I thought was Rattlesnakes again this year and I was wrong...I saved seed but heaven only knows what I did with it. I say if you have to deal with a lot of hear...Rattlesnakes get my vote.

It don't get quiet as hot here in N,Al as Fl. but I've found most pole beans will continue to bear, but at a reduced level, until frost while bush beans put on one or two big flushes and quit.
Rattlesnake to me is second to Ky. Wonder in both taste and productivity, but I tried one a couple of years ago that beat them both, Fortex.
Havn't grown pole beans lately. Grow Roma II bush beans. Easier, no staking.

Nice and productive here in cool climate England too. I am enjoying a heavy and tasty crop of rattlesnakes this year too.

One of those beans, another being Cherokee Trail of Tears, that does well in many climates and locations.
