I live in a west facing apartment in Sydney, and would like to know what pot plants are suitable - both indoors and on my balcony?

I get full sun in the afternoons.....it can get very hot in summer.

I have already got two peace lilies indoors. I would like to 'branch out' to try some new plant varieties if possible.
