My Red Dragon laceleaf JM (Acer Palmatum) is slow to leaf out. We had a late frost/snow in late April in zone 5/Iowa and the tree suffered. There was some branch die back and I trimmed most of those back. The tree is green and there are some leafs emerging but very little. I used a little osmocote (sp) to help the tree out. Not sure if this was the right thing to do, but figured it might help. What to do? Sit back and wait or is there another proactive approach?
Thanks!
