I have a similar question. I am climbing onto your post instead of starting a new one. In my case I potted lilies and placed them in my basement. Half of the pots have serious growth, so I brought them upstairs and I'm putting them in the sun with the orchids. Will this totally mess up the plants? Should I cut off the growth instead?

Looks like no answer for either one of us! I guess there are not many people on these forums at this time of year. Every time it warms up a bit I wonder if I should go get them out and move them into the garage, but have no info leading me to believe one way is better. Since they are not really "planted" if the winter is really cold I guess that would be the equivalent of subjecting the bulbs to a colder zone.

FWIW, quicksilver, DonÂt cut off any growth. They will not send up a new stalk, one is all they have. Best to just take care of them like a houseplant and then plant them out in the garden as soon as spring comes.

Hello quicksilver and linnea56. I searched GW when Van Engelen sent me my lily bulb order in December and I do not know what to do. I posted a thread and did not get a lot of answers. To make my story short, I found Riz Reyes' threads, sent him an email and he replied back. He has a website. I am in a hurry to go to work right now, so just google search him.

I looked at his site, but did not see any advice there for our situations.
