I had never heard of that. I was skeptical and Googled. Sure enough, cucumber beetles sometimes attack beans.

Well something has been trying to bore little holes into my beans in the last month, since I left off spraying. Last night I found a live grub in an IWK bean. It was white, about half an inch long, and had what looked like little whiskers projecting from the head. Was that a cuc beetle or a Mexican bean beetle? Didn't think the MBB got this far north.

I also just found such a white grub on my pole limas, and many of my beans have small holes drilled into the beans from the outside. I suspected cuc beetles, but wasn't sure. Now I'm a bit more sure, though I have all sorts of pests to potentially blame.

How about cucumber beetles attacking basil and thai basil?? I never would have believed it but this year my basil was almost destoyed by cucumber beetles!! I did not suspect them on my pole beans but they were there also - striped and spotted!!
