moving a dissectum

I rescued a small dissectum from home depot two years ago, and the longshot paid off, as it rallied last year instead of dying and put on some good solid growth! So much so that I am now worried about where I planted it. Its not clear what variety it is, but it sounds like most dissectums get very, very wide, which will not be a good thing where it is now (I only allowed about 5 feet for its width).

So I am looking for advice about moving this tree. When and how should I go about it? What signs of stress should I keep an eye out for after the fact?

Other possibly pertinent details: current location is protected from the south by our deck, but gets plenty of sun during the heat of the day in summer, with shade in later afternoon. The tree seems to like its current location. The new location would have quite a bit more shade but gets good morning sun, it is protected to the west by a fence and to the north by a stand of arborvitae, and it is on top of a small terraced hill (maybe 3.5 feet above grade the rest of the yard).

thanks for any and all help,

--Lisa
