I'm in zone 7 down south and it has been quite unusually hot the past couple of weeks, and our autumn blazes at the nursery have not leafed out yet, they are almost done 'flowering' here though. Ours will probably be out within a week if I had to guess, so yours will probably be at least 3 weeks before it actually leafs out.

The buds on all of my trees in Zone 9a erupted two weeks ago. There are some late comers. The link below is my Orange Dream JM that is stunning this spring.

Here in zone 8 all of our Japanese Maples are now leafed-out, some started at least 2 weeks ago. Even the paperbarks, usually the sleepiest, now have leaves. The buds on my freemanii, red maple and our 2 indigenous big tooth maples are just now openning.

Best spring ever. Not certain whether it was all of the compost tea last fall or our weather but my maples have never looked this spectacular.

Thanks for the feedback all. As it gets warmer outside, it's tough to be patient up here in the northern states. At this time of year, I envy all of you down south :)
