BTW, Alfie, Several of us Antique Rose Forum regulars who have been growing McKaig Road Pink under various names are 99% sure that it is actually Shailer's Provence, an Hybrid China from 1799. What a thrill to actually identify a mystery rose, and then to find out that it's a really OLD one!

Alfie, McKaig Road is in Frederick County. The place the rose was growing is not far from Lake Linganore, where my SIL lives.

I agree with Cecilia, can't make it to the fall one, but there is alway the spring.
Cecilia, thanks for the all the plants, I was the newbie with the meatballs, the coneflower, bee balm and phlox is doing great. And what a wonderful surprise when I saw the color on the phlox! I planted it next to some purple aster and they match perfectly. Thanks again and see you in the spring.

Hi, Von - exactly what color did the phlox turn out to be? Most of the phlox plants I gave away were seedlings and could have ended up almost any color!

Where on McKaig Road is the rose located ? I live right there in lake Linganore and would like to start a cutting if I may !! How exciting...

You'll be happy to know that the wood aster you gave me (to replace the one I accidently round offed) is doing gang busters this year. I just posted that 'm gong to hit the butterfly exhibit at Brookside Garden either August 21 or 22 just for fun before it closes. Wanna drive up and join me and who ever else shows up?
