2 upright JM that are said to have a blue quality in light are Nuresagai and Moonfire but they are a deep purple/Maroon but still stunning.

FAKE!!!!!!! would go well as a part of the Blue Mans Group ;>)... but you can buy spray paint or a good photo shop program or a filter ( I don't think it was solely donne with that.

As a side yes there are several green JM's with blueish casts...the pejoritive word has an "ISH" at the end!!! David

Being fairly new to pc's and knowing Nothing about those photoshop sites, is it really possible to change individual colors, (like the tree) and not affect anything around it, (ex: grass)

The answer is yes but upon looking closely at the pic it looks to me that some of the purple bleeds into the grass between the leaves.. I would say, and it's just a mere guess, that it was all purpled with photo shop and the grass was greened in later rather than the opposite...but it could be the other way......all it really needs is a pink or red stripe and you could use it at a hair salon for young and old ...purple for old ladies the stripe for the teens ;>) David

You don't even need photoshop for some effects like this. Some newer digital cameras (like my Canon SD600) have a color swap feature. It will swap any color in the photo with any other color. It's a pretty easy process really.

I admit that if there were such a thing, I'd be on this. I have Moonfire and it's no where even remotely mistakable for blue, nor are any of the other 132 JMs I have. Unfortunately!

I just started a blue and yellow garden under 3 birch trees I transplanted from my back property. How gorgeous this (fake) little tree would be amongst my blue fescue and 'Primrose' lilac, etc. :)

And exactly why would she be an authority on "blue" Japanese maples? The tree is certainly real, but the coloring is most definitely NOT true to life. As bluntly as possible, there are NO blue Japanese maples nor anything that approaches that color.

Photos of plants often offer misleading coloration - it could be the time of day the photo was taken, the quality of the available light, the contrast of the grass against the burgundy foliage, the use of filters or various means of computer enhancement.

Believe us when we say it is not blue :-) Ain't no such creature.

In addition I don't think there is ANY plant tree or living thing on earth nturally of THAT color!!!! FAKE FAKE FAKE... UNLESS you are on acid you will not see that color naturally occurring in the living enviorment !! David

I hate to inform iris, delphinium, 'Black & Blue' salvia, anenomes and more than several other plants that they're color doesn't occur naturally.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and state that there is not a color that doesn't occur in nature. Somewhere, somehow.

I mispoke I was talking about leaf and plant color not flower color...and I stand by that as far as leaves. I still have never seen that odd shade even on a flower although shades of such do accur. I personally find it on a JM rather disturbing and hideouus and amuzing but that is a personal opinion... my daughter has had pink hair for two years...to each their own...David

Lol, don't buy this unless you see the plant in person. You can still find some other beautiful JMs. Keep your eyes open but don't depend on someone's photo for complete accuracy.

Yah right good idea but slightly flawed if I tell her she definitly WON'T do it...No I think the hair is here for a while...now when she goes to college next fall and 4 others have pink hair well maybe then...she is not a pack follower which is good...I figure I got off easy if this is as bad of rebelliousness as it gets with her ;>) David

Photobucket doesn't store SUPER high resolution images but they never loose anything for me.

Try a green full moon maple and continue to water it with blue food coloring to make the leaves turn blue
