I just bought a jiro shidare to commemorate my daughter's first birthday and wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts and experience with this tree. I have other Japanese maples, so I know the basics. The site I'd like to plant it gets about 4 hours of morning sun and a couple of hours of dappled sunlight in the late afternoon. I've read that this tree can take a lot of sun, so I'm wondering if it will get enough in this spot? It's a beautiful tree, about 5 feet tall with a lot of cascading branches. Thanks for any input.
