I've got a Red Dragon that I bought as a 1-gallon plant about three years ago. It holds its color all summer, even in full sun and hot, humid NC summers. Appears to be very slow growing, which I like because I want it to stay smallish. Does not "weep" as much as my Crimson Queen. Color is the brightest red of all my red dissectums, which include CQ and Garnet.

Garnet is the fastest growing of my red dissectums, and may outgrow the location where I planted it. Crimson Queen also holds it color well through summer, but is not as bright as Red Dragon. My CQ and Garnet both have put on about 8-12 inches of new growth so far this spring, compared to about 4-6 inches for Red Dragon.

I'm a huge fan of 'Red Dragon', it handles my zone 5 winters without a problem and handles full sun well and keeps its color. I have 2, one in full day sun and the other in about half day sun. One was b&b about 3 feet tall and is now 5 feet tall 3 years later and the other was a 3 gallon that was about 18" -2' tall when I got it and 4 years later is 5 ft. wide x 4ft tall. In my opinion you made a good choice.
