I planted a Japanese anemone in too much shade; it flowered the first year and not in the four years since. Last year I tried to divide and transplant to a sunnier spot, but much drier (top of berm), and division died off. Any advice from an expert?

I have a wide range of soil moistures, rather little sun. Basically clay/woodland soil but several beds have terrific topsoil and worms after years of adding shredded leaves.
