Planted an Amur Maple a little over a month ago.

Tried to do everything correctly.

I spread back some of the mulch today (which was not stacked up by the trunk) to water and found surface roots.

Some are a very fine mass like a cobweb, and a couple are fairly large.

Should I remove the mulch to expose them, or just leave everything alone, or...?
