I work at a nursery and today I was thinking about starting my own nursery as i was digging up a silver maple that had been heeled in for a quite a few years so i had to cut large pieces of root out. i took a few various sizes home some with lots of feeder roots. I am not familiar with grafting but I was wondering if planting the root cuttings (asap) in containers would grow a silver maple? or would I just be composting roots?
