I explored that possibility. I could not find anything close..no Hasada, Hosoda, Hosado, or anything close in the Aka's. It is a great looking tree. Nice structure and leaf form. I have done a great deal of searching on this and turned up nothing. Oh well.

I do believe that Aka Hosada is a red linearilobum. Do you have photos that you can share. I have several of them but I'm not positive that they are correct. They are not a real strap leaf. The leaf is more like a thin matsumurae type. It is still a very pretty tree. Aka Hosada does exist and it is from Japan. I am trying to find photos or someone that had one to describe it. It seems to be quite rare. Doesn't grow fast.

Hosaba kosimino is mentioned in the bible but I cannot find anything else even close.

I didn't know Japanese terms could be found in the Bible. Oh, you must be referring to a book on maples or Japanese maples. (Yesss, I knew what you meant in the first place). Which one? Vertrees/Gregory?
