I grew all blue last year that came out great. Also grew Russian Banana and Rose Finn fingerlings. Bought them from Wood Prairie in Maine. - They sell a sampler set, This year I am growing All Blue and Adirondack Red and I ordered from the Maine Potato Lady. Growing potatoes was fun. I grew them in the ground and piled loose compost to hill them. It worked fine. Good luck.

Tried potatoes for the first time last year. Picked up a bag of Yukon Gold seed potatoes and put them in a raised bed 4 X 8. The bed only gets 2/3 day of sun. Even though it was a little tight the results were wonderful. Absolutely the best potatoes I have ever had. We shared our bounty and our neighbors and just couldnt get enough. This weekend I tilled a bed roughly twice as large and I plan on adding another before we plant in say 2/3 weeks.
