About the WB and GW site problems

Whenever I see or hear "WB" I think of Buggs Bunny and Porky Pig, such fond memories . . .

But here, WB=Winter Blues Seed Swap. In case you haven't noticed sinces January 2cd, Dave (lazyweeder) posted info on it in our (MN) exchange forum. Remember to post if you want to come in his thread. Julie's thread is about including out of towners and those not able to make it, but still want to participate.

Yes, the GW site is still far from perfect-good-acceptable. But they are still working on it. If you're still finding the need to relog in while still on the site, depending on how you use the back button refreshing(reloading) the page just might work. Also, for those of you who still have no email link on their member page (like me), it can be found in the your journal. This is the latest update from Tamara at GW staffing.

Hey, Rick,
I just read a post by you, somewhere on GW, that you can change that awful green text color on the main screen. Can you send me an email with instructions on how to do that? I also hate the small text size and font that they are using on "my page", too. If you know how to change that, please let me know.

Mike, I think you use . . . Netscape? Probably very similar to Firefox that I use. Go to tools at the top of the page>>options>>general>>fonts & colors. Choose minimum font size, colors, font type(some are easier to read-I like Tahoma). Don't forget to check the "always use my fonts/colors" box if there is one like in Firefox. Click Apply's or OK's back to your browser page.

If you use Internet Explorer, change to Firefox.

A little well placed humor there(IMO), as I really believe FF is a much better, faster and definitely safer browser. But if you use IE, go to tools>>internet options>>general>> colors, fonts. Don't know about font size in IE.

However, with any browser(I think) you can press control and plus or minus to directly increase or decrease sizes while not leaving your viewing screen.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for the info. I do use IE because of the ad-filtering software that I use.

I won't be visiting/participating in the GW forums any longer, due to the changes that are going to take place on the 24th of January.

It's been fun, but I'm not going to let GW collect and sell my info to the highest bidder. Everyone will now need to provide their real name so that GW can tie all of the info collected directly to the person.

It's been fun, everyone, and hopefully I will see you on some of the other forums that are available on the Internet.

Leftwood, can you also send me a similar email? I'm not sure if my gw email still works. I'm also counting my days here, but I think I'll let 'em ban me before going willingly.

leftwood, I wouldn't mind getting the info either. Although I am not planning on leaving, just adding on. The filters etc. on my computer have gotten rid of all the pop-ups for me.

Yes, Pauline, I'm not leaving either. Just expanding too, because a very knowledgeable GWer can't get his computer to work acceptably with GW anymore, and I want to stay in horticultural contact. As of present, there is no garden forum site as active as GW.
